The use of electric cars to ease up the use of conventional fuels is definitely the need of the hour. But, there is definitely an underlying requirement to produce a non-fossil fuel based electricity generation to up the electric cars sales, owing to the widespread requirement of adhering to environmentally friendly transportation options.

The Indian Automobile Sector has been gearing for a massive shift in priorities and technology since quite some time, but, nothing can compare to the market’s massive shift towards the trend of Electric Vehicles or EVs, with ambitious plans to run every private and public vehicle on electricity by 2030. This next generation of transport has its own reservations and advantages, and yet, it has caused a stir in the automobile scene of Indian markets.

The challenges and precautions with new technology are always constant, and with electric vehicles, the most important one is to have wait and watch game plan when it comes to automobile upgrades to already existent vehicles. Since fuel efficiency is a current major matter of concern, the need to cut down on conventional fuels without much ado is rampantly gaining popularity. This is the reason why the government has been supporting the plans of electric vehicles for quite some time, adhering to its sustainable development goals for the market and the society.

Every coin has two sides and the introduction of electric cars into the Indian automobile market may not sound the most promising for safe buyers due to issues plaguing this upcoming concept. The lack of cost-effectiveness and a relatively unreasonable initial price charges is a major reason for a lack of demand for electric cars and their production, even with the addition of same luxury and pleasure. Even though these cars provide equal pleasure, in the process of using clean energy the initial costs do go up, making it a hefty buy for first-time users. And yet, there is a silver lining because the competition among companies to produce cost-effective cars would increase, making them much more affordable eventually. It is all about taking the first step!

These cars run on electric energy, one of the most widely promoted forms of green energy by the government. This will be linked to the storage systems of the vehicle batteries, and, as the prices of the storage solutions go down, the overall cost will reduce. Batteries bring us to the next challenge: charging. The setting up of charging stations to match the number of refuelling stations available is a possible feat if planned and executed well. But the inevitable consumption of time in charging is a factor that can majorly hinder the electric car sales. Domestic charging in homes and offices can help the sales of electric cars and catapult their popularity upfront since it can dwindle the issue of time consumption considerably.

Electric Vehicles are going to be the face of next-generation transport technology in India and there is no denying their market and environmental appeal. However, it is important to tread any new pathway carefully, especially when it is along the lines of the double-edged nature of science and technology.
